These devices come in many different shapes and sizes. The most popular being the Apple Ipod. Some of these devices have wifi built in and can access the internet just like a computer and in essence that is what they are. Refer to our wireless router section on how to prevent these devices from getting on the internet or limiting where they can go.That does not stop them from going to the neighbors house or a WIFI hotspot though so you may need to research your particular brand and see if there are any parental controls available.

Some of these devices support video as well porn can be put on them. It is not a bad Idea to look at their device from time to time to see what listening to or watching.

The biggest issue i think is the rate at which kids download songs for these devices illegally through file sharing and P2P (peer to peer) web sites and programs. You may have heard the RIAA (recording industry association of america)bringing lawsuits against people illegally downloading and distributing music.
